Let me start by asking a question, what percent is six of 6.5 million? Yes, it’s a question that is important because it will help you establish a degree of magnitude. Put down your calculator for the answer is .000000009230%. Now let’s move to the next step. If you were running a business and had a company that produced products and had a failure rate with the percentage above, would you shut down your business until you could lower the rate?
I took you through the exercise because I need you to understand why I’m concerned about…

President Biden has suggested that he’s now reconsidering the forgiveness of $50,000 per student in student loan debt. As a parent who sent four children to college, each took some student loans, and my wife and I paid the rest like many other families in the country did for their children. As I thought about this proposal, I wondered who would qualify for the up to $50,000 forgiveness? As I thought more about this issue and the complexity of deciding who should get reimbursed, I thought about the other discussion of reparations for slavery. …

The City of Evanston Illinois passed legislation to pay reparations for discrimination against Black people of $400,000 and each payment will be $25,000. The ordinance says that people can be eligible for the money by: “Being a qualifying residents that must either have lived in or been a direct descendant of a Black person who lived in Evanston between 1919 to 1969 and who suffered discrimination in housing because of city ordinances, policies or practices.” The city has not disclosed the decision making criteria for those people who meet the initial requirements. If you take the $400,000…

I have thought long and hard about the title of the commentary and how it may anger many people, but making people angry is not a reason not to publish my thoughts. As a current events commentator, I have written perhaps 400 commentaries. Most often. I try to write about things that might make people stop and think about the possibility of the commentary’s subject matter.
“Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President…

Invisibly.com performed a survey of 5,537 Americans between December 4th and 14, 2020. It revealed that 47% of people that responded said they were not going to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Invisibly poll found that willingness to be vaccinated is tightly linked to trustworthiness. Of those who trust the vaccines to be safe and effective, 81% said they are willing to be vaccinated. Of those who considered the vaccine very untrustworthy, 80% said they were very unlikely to be vaccinated.
Notably, trust in the vaccine and willingness to be vaccinated correlated to race and age, with…

The Senate will soon begin discussion on the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package proposed by the White House. We have seen finally some of the breakdown of where the moneys going but I’m convinced that the appropriations committees in the House does not know how to count. We found out on March 2 2021 that over $1 trillion out of the $2.9 trillion approved in 2020 has not yet been spent. Even though it hasn’t been spent they want asked for another $1.9 trillion. …
According to Johns Hopkins’ Medicine website there is a disproportionate rate of illness, and death in the black community from COVID-19. The report points out in Chicago where African-Americans comprise one third of the city’s population they account for half of those who have tested positive for coronavirus and almost 75% of the COVID-19 deaths. In another report Johns Hopkins says in Milwaukee, African-Americans make up 70% of the deaths due to the coronavirus but just 26% of the city’s population.
While much of the focus has been on African-Americans disproportionately contracting and dying from the Covid 19 virus other…

According to the National Digital Forecast Database, over 70% of the lower 48 states are covered by snow. As of February 15, 2021, Texas was hit; not only with snow, wind and ice, but half of their wind turbine generating stations were shut down, leaving 4 million Texans, perhaps more, without electrical power. Almost ¼ of Texas’ electrical power is created by wind turbines. …

NPR reported that President Biden says that the following is being spent in his $1.9 Trillion COVID-19 stimulus package.
The total amount identified in these four items is $1,121 trillion, so my question is, where is the remaining almost $800 billion going?
Let’s look…
