How often has President Biden made a statement only to either have it walked back by the press office or some member of the administration made a statement that makes the President and his administration look inept? How many times did cabinet officers not know the actual detail? Over the following few paragraphs, I will be showing you some examples, and I can say I have never seen so many examples of people so ill-qualified to hold such important positions, including the office of the President.
Let’s start on day one. On his first day in office, President Biden signed 17 executive orders. Over the next 3 days, he signed thirty more. I want to use one of those orders and its impact on every American. The President issued an Executive Order canceling the Keystone pipeline. That one order put at least 60,000 people out of work. I ask you this question, how many people were already in place to carry out his order on the day he signed it? Not many people were in place. His Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Granholm, didn’t take office until more than a month later. In the executive order on energy, in less than 12 months, we moved from a nation that was energy independent to a net importer of crude. Look at what happened to the price of oil and, as a result, the cost of gas. In the last 10 months, the price of a gallon of gas increased by $1.00 a gallon. More on that in a moment. For now, let’s look at the cost of solar panels, one of the two major potential producers of electricity in the last 10 months. According to the Institute for Energy Research, solar panels have increased in price 18 percent since the start of the year. The price increase is mainly due to a quadrupling in the critical raw material, polysilicon, mainly manufactured in China’s Xinjiang region. The polysilicon prices have reached $25.88 a kilogram, up from $6.19 less than a year ago — an increase of over 300 percent. We have changed our energy dependency from Middle East oil to Chinese polysilicon.
If we look at wind energy, we find another lie from the President. According to the White House, meeting their Wind Energy target could mean jobs for more than 44,000 workers and 33,000 others in related employment. But the White House is not telling the American public that most of those jobs are temporary construction jobs and that the salaries of wind and solar technicians are much less than the salaries of oil and gas workers that Biden wants to displace. Further, the projects under development along the east coast involve European power companies, including Britain’s BP, Norway’s Equinor, Spain’s Iberdrola, and Denmark’s Ørsted. According to National Geographic, 8% of electricity comes from wind power and 2% solar panels. The country is ill-prepared to shut down one energy source while we wait for a potential replacement to become a realistic replacement.
Getting back to, oil let’s look at some other numbers. According to the US Department of Energy, the current oil consumption rate is 20 million barrels a day in America. Based on estimates from the US Energy Information Administration, as of November 28, 2021, we are now importing about 8 million barrels a day. As gas prices increase, households see a more significant percentage of their income going toward gas purchases.
The next big lie was that the President’s popularity would increase as gas prices rose because he was doing what was right for the people. The President told the American people that he would do something about the high cost of gas. He was going to release 50 million barrels of crude from the strategic oil reserve. He assured us that this move would take the pressure off the price of oil and lower gas prices. He didn’t tell us that the 50 million barrels are equal to 4 days of consumption. What else he didn’t tell us is that the bulk of the 50 million barrels were sold to China, India, South Korea, and Japan.
The day after Thanksgiving, the stock markets dropped 1100 points, gold fell $100, and crude dropped $10 a barrel lower. As of December 2, the price of oil was $66.50, and the national average price of a gallon of gas dropped 2 cents a gallon. On Friday, December 3, the President took credit for reducing the gas price by 2 cents a gallon. The average capacity for gas in a car in America is 16 gallons, and the President claims credit that the American car owner will save 32 cents per fill-up. If Americans had been told by the mainstream media the actual details of the 50 million barrels, they would have had a negative reaction.
Moving on to a $90 billion inept decision. The planners responsible for the final withdrawal from Afghanistan left $90 billion in some of the most sophisticated arms in the world left behind to be captured by terrorists. To try and curb the criticism about his handling of the exit from Afghanistan, the President ordered a drone strike that killed 13 US soldiers, and we later found out that no bombs were in the car as reported. This is another example of poor planning, and it cost American lives.
Recently, with the new Omicrom COVID virus outbreak, White House medical director Dr. Anthony Fauci announced that all people coming into the United States will be required to complete testing and vaccination. When asked about all the illegal immigrants coming into the United States not being vaccinations he responded. “That is a different issue.”
Speaking of the COVID virus, the President said that he would knock out the virus. More people have died in 2021 under Joe Biden than in 2020 under President Trump.
One last illustration is that the people chosen by Biden for key cabinet positions are the wrong people. The comment by the Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Granholm, when asked how much was in the US Strategic Reserve she laughed and said, “I don’t have that number in front of me.” The President had announced that he would release 50 million barrels under her responsibility, and one would think she would have anticipated the simple question.
I could go on and give you many other examples of how this administration makes a policy statement but hasn’t done the research to even offer a thought-out plan. The thing that concerns me the most is we have potentially 3 more years of Joe’s inept leadership.
