Democrats in shambles

The Democrats really don’t know which way to turn. Therefore, they have conflicting messages to the American people and to their party members. Many U.S. cities are in turmoil. In fact, as I reported in a recent commentary, in 19 of the 21 major cities suffering looting, Democrats hold the mayor’s seat, and they have done so in these cities in some cases for almost 60 years. We have women chiefs of police; we have African American women as chiefs of police; and yet with all this racially equality, those cities are still in an uproar.

For the last three years, the Democratic Party has been steadfast against border walls and policing of the U.S./Mexican border boundary. On the other hand, the Republican Party has been building the wall and policing the border. Republicans have elected more blacks, minorities, and women to public office than at any time in their history. If we look at the occupation of downtown Seattle, numerous stories come out, but nobody seems to know who’s in charge.

For some strange reason, the occupiers in downtown Seattle have erected walls and have armed security at various checkpoints to decide who can enter the zone. How is what they are doing in Seattle, any different from what the administration has been trying to do at our southern border? Granted, the border around the six blocks in Seattle is much smaller and easier to police than several thousand miles of the Mexican border, but the principle is the same.

Okay, how is it that Democrats, on the one hand, are opposed to the wall on the border with border patrol control against illegal immigration and drug trafficking, yet at the same time supporting terrorists, who have captured a portion of Seattle, walled it off, and have armed security keeping people out? Isn’t the mayor a Democratic Party woman, and the chief of police an African American woman?

If I was looking for an utterly diverse city from a Democratic standpoint, Seattle would be that city. It has everything the Democratic Party wants, yet with women and minorities in control of the city, why has a portion of it declared itself as a sovereign nation, autonomous from the United States? The Democratic Party is saying that they want to defund or disband the police, yet their presumptive party nominee, Joe Biden, and other party leaders are opposed to that position. If you’re a Democrat and you think that dismantling police departments is a good idea, are you going to support Joe Biden if he doesn’t agree with you? What about state and local politicians running for office in November? Let’s look at the police in America:

Here are some facts about police officers:

Currently, in the U.S. there are over 800,000 police officers

117,000 are female, representing 12%

70% are white

15% are Black

30% are Minorities

$69,036 Average Salary

Black members of the police forces are greater than the black percentage of the total population. You may ask why Joe Biden is against dissolving the ranks of the 800,000 police officers in the United States? Easy answer, they are a union, and the influence of the 800,000 members is many times greater than the total membership. Biden can’t afford to alienate the police unions because, if they choose not to support him, other unions may support the police union position.

The police can refuse to provide financial support to the national ticket, and also not support state and local Democratic candidates. The police union leader is already speaking out against the people who want to defund the police, including the elected leaders. If the violence continues against police, look for more union leaders to stand up and criticize those Democrats who want to defund their departments. The longer the Chaz section continues in Seattle, the greater the chance of internal violence, and a dangerous situation for the non-supporters who live there. I don’t agree with the mayor of Seattle, Jenny Durkan, when asked how long this revolt can last: she says,” We could have a summer of Love.”

The terrorists have already indicated that they are running out of things. Look for the police to try and stop the flow of food and supplies crossing this artificial border. Perhaps the president can impose a 50% tariff on the people in Seattle or elsewhere who want to send supplies into Chaz. One of my primary concerns is that there doesn’t seem to be any order or authority in Chaz, and frustration will see people turn to more destruction of private property and regrettably loss of life.

If the Black Lives Matter groups and Antifa continue to press the Democrats to eliminate police departments, they will split the Democratic Party. The Democrats are helping to make this assumption come to pass because the stories in the images are all over the newspapers and television. Still, many in America want to defund police departments, but another assumption is that this is driven primarily by the media, a great majority of which support the Democratic Party. Will the party be split between the radical socialists and communists, and moderate Democrats, if there any are left?

All candidates for the Republican Party should run as law and order candidates and continually remind the electorate that the Democratic Party is the party of three no’s: no police, no borders, and no law and order.
