Is there a new John Dean waiting to testify before Congress?
Where were you on June 25, 1973, when John Dean repeated the famous words, he spoke to President Nixon, “There was a cancer growing on the presidency.” The White House Counsel met with Nixon
on March 21, 1973, almost 50 years ago. President Nixon and John Dean’s meeting took place in the Oval Office in the White House. He’s spent the past five decades unpacking whether a president is above the law.
Three generations have passed since John Dean made his statement and I believe that somewhere there is a new John Dean who is already talking to members of one of the committees of the House about the Biden family’s corruption including the President himself. I’m sure that the legal counsel of the unknown whistleblower is trying to make sure that he or she understands as best he can that the left, including the mainstream media, will launch a vicious attack on him. They will do everything in their power to discredit his testimony.
Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, claimed that more than a dozen FBI agents have approached his office “as whistleblowers … about a whole host of issues.”
Jordan said during an interview with Fox News: “Fourteen FBI agents have come to our office as whistleblowers, and they are good people. There are lots of good people in the FBI. It’s the leadership of the Justice Department and the FBI that are the problem. These good agents who are coming to us, telling us what is baloney, what’s going on — the political nature now of the Justice Department and the FBI — God bless them for doing it.”
Whistleblowers can’t always be trusted as honest sources of details of wrongdoing. The whistle-blower who touched off an impeachment inquiry with his explosive complaint about President Trump’s effort to pressure Ukraine to investigate his political rivals is willing to answer House Republicans’ written questions, his legal team announced.
The offer was intended to deter Republican attacks and show that the whistle-blower, a C.I.A. officer, is above the political rancor unleashed by House Democrats’ inquiry. But it appeared not to satisfy House Republicans, who, led by Mr. Trump, have assailed the whistle-blower as politically motivated and demanded his identity be revealed.
Mark S. Zaid, a lawyer for the whistle-blower, directly challenged those attacks. “Being a whistleblower is not a partisan job nor is impeachment an objective,” he wrote in a long statement on Twitter. “That is not our role.”
He continued, “We stand ready to cooperate and ensure facts — rather than partisanship — dictates any process involving the #whistleblower.”
When the whistleblower allegations were investigated, it was discovered that they were pure hearsay and were not substantiated by anyone else. Our congressmen and women must be very careful when somebody suggests that they have information about corruption in the Biden White House.
As we have seen in recent years hearsay and innuendo have been the basis to try and impeach President Trump. The challenge for the Republicans will be to make sure that all the ducks are lined up in a row and that their facts are rock solid.
As the hearings start to unfold and information comes to light the central question will be, Can the Republicans prove to the American people the charge of corruption? In the case of Nixon, the Republican leadership made the long trek from the Capital to the White House to tell the President for the good of the country he needed to resign, the country did not need an impeachment trial.
I hope that there is somebody out there who has the courage and the proof to speak in front of a House committee so that the American people can finally hear the truth about the corruption of the Biden family.
If there is such a person, I believe that the council for the Republicans will be briefing the witness not only checking his story but to make sure the whistleblower understands the amount of pressure that will come on him from the Democrats and the mainstream media to question his honesty and integrity.
